Syrian National Army

SNA is a coalition of armed opposition groups mainly supported by Turkey. Its primary focus has been to fight against the Syrian Regime forces, ISIS, and more recently, against the YPG-led Syrian Democratic Forces in northern Syria.

Syrian Democratic Forces

SDF is a multi-ethnic and multi-religious alliance predominantly led by the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG). The SDF is backed by the United States and has been a key player in the fight against ISIS. They also hold significant territory in northeastern Syria.

HTS Originating as a branch of Al-Qaeda in Syria, HTS has evolved into a dominant jihadist group in the Idlib governorate. Although it publicly severed ties with Al-Qaeda, it is still considered a terrorist organization by many countries.

The 4th Division

It is considered one of the most critical components of the Regime  Army, with a personnel strength of 15,000. The division has been accused of committing massacres and war crimes against the Syrian people since the outbreak of the revolution in March 2011.
